I love the clean and simple style of Lloyd Larson's music. He is a well-known composer for church music, especially for choirs. I used to select more of Lloyd Larson's pieces for my choir anthems when I used to work as a music director at church.
He uses simple harmonies with not many ornaments or different styles. Simplicity makes it much harder to perform a piece of music like this because it requires transparency which almost feels like showing everything without hiding any.
Especially with a piano that doesn't sustain like a string instrument or human voice, it is even harder. However, he succeeded to make a piece without using many ornaments or variations keeping the original tune as it is.
Another proof of less is more.
